Protecting seniors from scams

ScamsOlder adults are often the targets of scams to steal their hard-earned savings. More than $2 billion is stolen from seniors every year.

Hear how financial fraud is directed at the elderly and learn how to prevent it at “Protect Yourself Against Scams,” a free presentation at Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor May 13. You will learn to recognize the signs of a scam, how to protect yourself from scams and how to report a scam. The presentation will be led by the Arkansas City Police Department and RCB Bank Fraud Department.

“Protect Yourself Against Scams” will begin at 1:30 p.m. May 13 in the chapel at Arkansas Presbyterian Manor, 1711 N. Fourth. It is part of Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor’s Just Ask series, a free, ongoing lifelong learning program featuring information from local, regional and national experts on topics of interest to older adults and their families.
